A dog is fine after being plucked from a smoky house fire in the Houston suburbs.
After a quick-thinking Spring Ridge resident called 911 this afternoon to report smoke coming from the roof line and told fire crews he heard barking, Spring firefighters saved a furry fire victim and put out the blaze.
No one was injured.
"These guys saved what mattered in this house," says Tracee Evans, communications director for the Spring Fire Department.
