Montgomery County officials are urging residents to be mindful this weekend of the arrival of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season.
“The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, elected officials and our partners continue to prepare for whatever this hurricane season will bring our way, but it’s also your responsibility to prepare yourself and your family for when a disaster strikes,” the county’s OHSEM said in a statement. “Start preparing now.”
Local officials offer ways to be prepared -- and lists of emergency preparedness supplies, severe weather updates, road closures and emergency information – at www.mctxoem.org.
They offer these tips:
--Restock your emergency supply kit. If you don’t have one, start one this weekend.
--Make a plan and discuss your plan with your family.
--Review your insurance and make adjustments where necessary.
--For help and information on preparing for disasters, download the local preparedness app ReadyMCTX to your mobile device.
