President to Meet Santa Fe Survivors in Houston

President Trump will be in Houston on Thursday.

It's a previously scheduled fundraiser in town ... with a somber addition. He's adding a private meeting with victims of the Santa Fe High School shootings. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the president will offer support to survivors and families. It will likely take place at Ellington Field, where Air Force One will touch down later this morning.

The president will then talk politics at a Republican National Senatorial Committee luncheon. It’s an invitation-only, $5,000-a-plate luncheon.

The fundraiser comes as U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, lags in year-to-date fundraising to longshot Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke.

Contribution levels range from $5,000 per person to $100,000 per couple, according to the luncheon’s invitation.

Trump will also appear at a fundraising dinner in Dallas on Thursday night. That event is being sponsored by Trump's 2020 re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee.

The president originally had been scheduled to make his Texas fundraising visit on May 14.
