Abbott to hold Gun Roundtable Next Week

Texas Governor Greg Abbott says he wants to solve the issue of gun violence at schools, and he’s trying to walk the talk as well.

He is set to hold roundtable discussions next week with other leaders and get their thoughts on how to deal with this.

“It’s time in Texas that we take action and make sure this tragedy is never repeated again in the history of the state of Texas,” Abbott said.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick told Fox it's not as simple as throwing more law enforcement at it.

“We don’t have 30 or 40 thousand law enforcement to put at every door,” Patrick explained. “Maybe we need to look at designing schools the way we design other structures where you can only go in and out one door.”

Some other ideas from the Governor include providing schools resources to deal with mental health issues that lead to gun violence
