Teacher Confronts Shortcut Driver

An elementary school teacher faces discipline in Fort Bend County, after he jumped on the hood of a car that was shortcutting through an elementary school parking lot.

Rita Trimmer-Ray admits to our TV partner KPRC Channel-2 she was late dropping her daughter at Dulles High School, and tried driving around cones to cut through the elementary school parking lot.

Aaron Morgan Young, known as 'Coach Young' at Dulles Elementary School, can be seen on cell phone video lying on the hood of a car, talking to the driver.

Hundreds of parents and concerned citizens are petitioning the district asking them not to discipline Coach Young - adding he was acting to protect their children.

The Fort Bend ISD issued a statement saying “While it is important for all of our parents and visitors to follow proper traffic flow patterns to ensure the safety of all students, we do not condone employees using any physical means to stop a vehicle.”

The statement goes on to say, “District administrators are reviewing the circumstances and will take appropriate action.”

Coach Young is expected to return to campus today.
