Thieves Loot Marble Floor From Harvey-Damaged Home

(Houston, TX)  --  Harris County investigators are looking into the theft of valuable marble flooring from a flood-damaged home in Meyerland.  The homeowners reported the theft on Thursday.

A Precinct 5 spokesman says the thieves entered the house by breaking a front window, then cut the Terrazzo flooring into slabs and removed it.

He says it looks like a professional job and was therefore likely done by a contractor.  The marble floor was the original and had been installed in the house more than 60 years ago.

The homeowners say the loss wasn't insured.
