Texas City Commissioner Indicted For Deaths Of Two Pedestrians

(Texas City, TX)  --  A Texas City Commissioner's reelection bid may be in jeopardy, now that she's been indicted on two counts of manslaughter.

A Galveston County grand jury on Thursday indicted 54-year-old Dee Ann Haney, who was arrested last summer after she reportedly struck and killed two men standing on the shoulder of the Galveston Causeway.

The indictment came two days before voters will decide whether to re-elect Haney.  If convicted, she could face two to 20 years in prison.
