Houston’s Working!

Houston and Texas are seeing low unemployment rates. Parker Harvey, Economist for Workforce Solutions, says staffing agencies and HR recruiters are in demand!  “A lot of companies are ramping up their hiring in anticipation of things continuing to improve.”Tell your friends still looking that there are positions to fill. “Everything from clerical and back office to technical and professional. it really runs the gamut according to the Houston staffing agencies I've been talking to lately.”

When we spoke to Rice University’s Professor Edward Egan, he told us, “March was a really good month. We dropped down to only 4% unemployment.  Probably most of the decrease is because of the rise of the price of oil. Oil is crucial to the economy of both Houston and Texas.”

It's not good for everyone, though.  Rents are going up and you have to suffer through more traffic and road construction.
