NRA Recruiting New Members Ahead of November

The National Rifle Association is holding a membership drive heading into this year's mid-term elections. The gun lobby is seeking 100,000 new members over the next 100 days, and spokesman Jason Brown says there's no better time than now.

“If you listen to coverage in the mainstream media, if you look at the signs at the myriad of rallies across the country, people clamoring for gun control, the Second Amendment is under attack,” he says.

Whether it’s a 1-year or lifetime membership, Brown says those dollars go toward supporting the right to bear arms.

“It's competitive shooting programs. It's recreational safety shooting, sports programs. It also goes into protecting those rights through the ways the NRA lobbies, the way the NRA gets out into communities, into state houses and on Capitol Hill.”
