Houston is Underbuilt

There is a housing shortage all over America – and even Houston has become a seller’s market! Most Houston houses are selling almost twice as fast as before and home construction in the US is at its lowest level in 60 years.

Steward Title’s Chief Economist Ted. C. Jones advises home seekers to look outside the Sam Houston Tollway.

“We have a large amount of highly affordable properties from The Woodlands to Katy and over the Pearland. Now if you work in the heart of Houston – you’ll have a long commute. I call it Road Therapy!”

Jones says it’s also a tight market for renters. “Especially those in a lower income bracket.”

But, overall, Jones says Texas has highly affordable housing compared to most states.
