(Houston, TX) -- About 100 students from five HISD elementary schools will be on stage this weekend for the district's first Shakespeare Festival for Elementary Schools.
Administrators and theater teachers will accompany the kids from Poe, Patterson, Crespo, Herod and Sinclair schools.
Each school will perform a 20- to 25-minute kid-safe abridgment of a Shakespeare play. The play's the thing on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m. at Tanglewood Middle School on San Felipe near Sage.
