The Astrodome will be the site of one final party before renovations get underway.
Harris County officials are joining with the Astrodome Conservancy to celebrate the stadium's 53rd anniversary on April 9th.
The event is free to the public, but you will need a ticket for admission. Registration opens at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.
Last week, the Dome was designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
Harris County Commissioners approved 105-million dollars to begin ‘phase one’ of a plan to turn the stadium into an event space. Construction scheduled to get underway in October.
