Buying your milk and bread may soon include some new technology. Grocers have always looked for ways to keep their customers happy. First it was check-yourself stations with no lines, then order-and-deliver groceries and now Scan and Go Grocery Shopping.
George Kelemen, of the Texas Retailers Association explains it like this: The shopper downloads an app on their phone, shops and scans their items, bags them up and pays on their phone, and is out the door.Scan-and-Go-Grocery Stores are being tested now in Texas.
Security shouldn’t be a problem as that technology is already in use by people who safely bank by app, Keleman also says theft problems will be ironed out the technology – probably involving sensors at the store door.
