Texans think Texas is doing better than the country

A new poll from the University of Texas and the Texas Tribune shows that Texans think more of Texas than they do of the rest of the country.

The new poll shows about half of Texans think the U.S. is on the wrong track while the Lone Star State is on the right one. This doesn't surprise Republican consultant Bill Miller.

“Texans always think Texas is right about whatever we do. That’s just part of being from Texas,” Miller stated.

As for the biggest problem facing the country, Texas told the poll that it is immigration, and Miller says that has been the case for years and will be the case until the issue is solved.

“Everyone knows you have to do something, but until you do you are going to have this issue hanging out there that is bothersome,” Miller explained.

That said, 53% of Texans said they thought the economy had gotten better over the last year while only 19% said it had gotten worse.
