It’s Bar-B-Cue time in Texas!
The 2018 World’s Championship Barbecue Championship with 250 teams comprised of the best cooks on the planet kicks off tonight at NRG Park.
“Tonight the gates open at 5pm and we’re open till 11pm. With the price of admission you get a sliced beef barbecue plate at our public food tent known as The Chuck Wagon, and next door is the Rockin Barbecue Saloon,” says Robert Becker, the Chairman of the Bar-B-Que Committee.
Tonight’s live music at the Bar-B-Que Saloon is Don Vickers. Kimberly Dunn and George Ducas perform on state at the Garden.

The carnival also opens tonight at 6.
The Bar-B-Que Cook-Off continues tomorrow, beginning at noon and running through 11, and then Saturday starting at 9am. The winner will be announced Saturday at 7pm.
