Mardi Gras Entrance Gate Moved Because Of Falling Glass

The organizers of Mardi Gras Galveston are moving one of the entrances to the event because of glass falling from a nearby downtown building.

City officials received reports last week of glass panes falling from the windows of the Medical Arts Building on 21st Street.  They say the city has contacted the building's owner and asked the company to deal with the problem.

So far there are no reported injuries or property damage as a result of the falling glass.  The entry gate is being moved a block down Mechanic Street, from 21st to 22nd.
