Houstonian Sam McGuffie is going for bobsledding gold in the Winter Olympics in Korea.
McGuffie was a running back at Cy-Fair High School who later played at Michigan State and Rice, followed by brief periods with several pro teams in the NFL and Canada.
Bobsledding legend Steven Holcomb, who led Team USA to a gold medal in 2010, took McGuffie under his wing and trained him in the sport. Holcomb died last year, so McGuffie hopes to carry on the winning tradition.
