A new poll shows that you are, for the most part, happy with the way things are going in the country right now.
According to Gallup’s ‘Mood of the Country,’ you are more satisfied now with military readiness, national security and the economy than you were at the end of the Obama Presidency. Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak says this poll means one thing; job approval ratings for President Trump are meaningless.
“You go a level deeper and there are a lot of encouraging signs for the President. A larger number of people approve of his policies and approve of the direction of the country,” Mackowiak told KTRH News.
At the same time, you still have issues with things like health care. Mackowiak says that is not Trump's fault at all.
“This is an issue that is associated with Democrats, and the numbers are down a little bit. Obamacare continued to crater,” Mackowiak explained.
Trump made a big push to get health care done last year, but those efforts were derailed not because of Trump, but because of some of his fellow Republicans and Democrats who opposed that effort.
