(Huntsville, TX) -- The state's execution toll for the year now stands at one. Anthony Shore, Houston's 55-year-old "Tourniquet Killer," raped and strangled four female victims in the 1980s and 1990s.
The cases were unsolved for more than ten years.
Shore dodged several previous execution dates, most recently in October, when a judge granted him a 90-day stay. When the 90 days ran out, Shore received the lethal injection of pentobarbital at 6:15 p.m. Thursday. His execution is the first in Texas and the nation in 2018.
