Life Time Fitness no longer carries cable news on their TVs because of member requests and their commitment to a "healthy" environment.
“I’ve gotta say, when going and running on a treadmill it gets really annoying of seeing these nasty news stories time and time again and that’s all that you see. It’s discouraging,” said one man
Nowadays, it’s hard to get news without being drawn into politics.
“The shoving it in your face and it’s almost like you’re forced to make a decision and it carries on to where you’re supposed to be neutral, like at work,” said one woman.
Life Time Fitness officials said their healthy environment includes one free of consistently negative or politically charged content. So, they have stopped running cable news.
“All the stuff that’s going on in the world, just can’t make appropriate decisions and just lack of professionalism,” said another man.
Some people cited that working out was a way to get rid of stress and tension...and watching the political coverage only stressed them out.
“I really don’t want to hear about it. It doesn’t seem like anything’s any different or anything’s changing. And, after watching the Golden Globes right now, I think Oprah is going to be our next president,” said another woman.
