Facebook remains the dominant platform for social media, but there is a threat knocking on their door.
One of the biggest trends in social media in 2018 is the sky-rocketing popularity of Instagram Stories.
“I guess we can stop calling it Instagram’s Snapchat since it completely demolished Instagram in 2017,” laughs social media expert Travis Walser in a posted vlog. He says we’re placing more importance in quick, off-the-cuff type stories that are favored on Instagram Stories.
Facebook is adding 20 million new users per month. Instagram Stories is adding 50 million monthly.
Founder Mark Zuckerberg posted on his personal Facebook page Thursday that he will devote 2018 to fixing a long list of issues on Facebook, including foreign interference and threats to the mental health of users.
