Two central Texas sisters who were the subject of an Amber Alert have been found safe in southeastern Colorado. Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks says investigators acted on a tip and found the girls' alleged abductor - 44-year old Terry Miles - near Trinidad, Colorado.
"It wasn't if the girls came home, it has always been when the girls came home and that just goes to tell you the passion that everybody had in returning these girls home safe... We send out Amber Alerts and we sound out bulletins for a reason, it's to help people get back home safe to their families and this is a prime example of the system working.
14-year-old Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith and 7-year-old Luluvioletta Mariposo Bandera-Magret disappeared on New Year's Eve from a home where their mother was found dead.
Miles - who is in custody - is also a person of interest in the death.
