Many Homeowners Rush To Pre-Pay Property Taxes

Many people are rushing to pre-pay 2018 property taxes before President Trump's tax code takes effect.  It caps deductions at ten-thousand-dollars which is a big hit for a lot of East Coast homeowners.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie have both issued executive orders allowing next year's property taxes to be prepaid, but Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy has not.

The IRS has weighed in, too, issuing guidelines saying 2018 property taxes are deductible only if you've received an actual bill.
