Establishment Republicans have started to come around to supporting President Donald Trump, and some analysts think the mainstream media is, too.
And one analyst, Fox’s Howard Kurtz, thinks that’s been the case since tax reform passed.
“It gets dull and some want to say something new,” Kurtz explained. “Now you have a reason, because you can no longer say Trump hasn’t gotten a major piece of legislation.”
But Dan Gainor at the Media Research Center says what Kurtz is talking about are only a few isolated cases.
“The whole attempt by the major media has been to gut the Trump Administration from the very beginning. They were talking impeachment as soon as he was elected,” Gainor said.
And he thinks that the Trump bashing will continue in 2018.
“You’re going to get more of that in 2018,” Gainor stated.
And you already see that with much of the coverage this week being pointed towards Trump playing golf and Russia. In the meantime the Pew Research Center says that the coverage of Trump in his first 60 days was 62 percent negative. By comparison, President Barrack Obama’s coverage was just 20 percent negative.
