Former Harris County state district judge Ryan Patrick will be the next U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas.
The U.S. Senate confirmed Patrick on Wednesday. He's the son of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, an outspoken conservative. The state's Southern District handles one of the busiest criminal dockets in the country.
Patrick could be sworn in next week, followed by a formal investiture ceremony within the next few months.
