Some Boy Scout Chapters around the state are following a soft rollout and allowing girls into their programs starting next month.
This is happening in San Antonio, but what about here in Houston? Shane Burks with the Boy Scouts of America Sam Houston Area Council says not every chapter is following this soft roll out.
“We have discussed internally, and what we are going to do is stick with the initial decision of the Fall of 2018,” Burks said.
Some of you might think this is a big change, and that nothing is sacred anymore. Burks says that's not true.
“The Boy Scouts of America have had girls involved in our programs since 1971,” Burks stated, adding that the scout oath and laws have not changed.
