Texans hit the road to face Jaguars

There are still three games left in the season for the 4-9 Houston Texans. And one of them is on the road Sunday against a team that beat them badly when the Texans were fully healthy.

The Texans will be on the road to face Jacksonville Sunday afternoon, a team that already beat them this year, back in Week One, 29 to 7.

This time things will look different. The Jaguars are in first place and rolling at 9-4 this season. The Texans have lost three in a row and are far from what anyone would consider healthy. Tom Savage who replaced the injured Deshaun Watson is out thanks to the concussion he suffered against San Francisco last weekend. T.J. Yates is back for another tour with the team. And once again, Yates is stepping into the role of being the starter.

“I’m just happy to be playing football again. I’ll prepare my butt off for it and hopefully we can go to Jacksonville and get a win.

Yates has only been back for a few weeks, but Coach Bill O’Brien isn’t worried about getting Yates up to speed with the team’s system. He has bigger concerns.

“It’s more about getting the team physically ready to go from a health standpoint. That’s the big thing,” O’Brien explained.

Sunday’s kickoff is at noon.
