Texans lose another close game

The good news was it wasn’t a blowout. The bad news was it was another loss for the Houston Texans.

The Tennessee Titans escaped their game with the Texans thanks to their 24 to 13 win yesterday in Nashville. The loss for the Texans was sealed in the final moments.

Down 17-13 and driving, quarterback Tom Savage threw an interception in the end zone with 1:02 left to play, and that was followed up by the defense allowing Derrick henry to scamper for a 75 yard touchdown just a few plays later.

Savage threw for a career high 365 yards, but thanks to injuries he was sacked four times. Head coach Bill O’Brien is still looking for answers.

“We got to find a way to win. I thought the guys battled hard. We just lost another close one,” O’Brien said after the game.

Savage was less political about the situation.

“We are going to stay together and we are going to find a way to get some wins. But it stinks,” Savage told reporters.

The loss dropped the Texans to 4-8 on the season, so for the first time in four seasons under O’Brien, the Texans will not have a winning record.
