Texans visit Titans Sunday

A pair of AFC South teams going in opposite directions hookup Sunday in Nashville as the Houston Texans take on the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.

The Texans have dropped four-of-five after a 23-16 loss in Baltimore on Monday night.  Houston is 4-and-7 on the year.  The Texans trounced the Titans 57-14 in Week Four and have won six of the last seven meetings overall. But of course that was when Deshaun Watson was healthy.

He’s not anymore, out for the season with a knee injury, and backup Tom Savage has struggled as his replacement. Coach Bill O’Brien has given Savage a vote of confidence of sorts, but Savage knows that means little if he can’t stop turning the ball over.

“I gotta go out there and perform,” Savage stated.

O’Brien echoed those sentiments.

“If he can clean that up, he’s really going to take off, but he’s really got to clean that up,” O’Brien told reporters on Wednesday.

While the Texans have struggled, the Titans have won five of their past six games after last Sunday's 20-16 victory in Indianapolis.  Tennessee is tied with Jacksonville atop the division at 7-and-4, but the Titans currently hold the tiebreaker.

 Sunday’s Kickoff is at Noon.
