Houston's Workforce Among the Nation's Happiest

‘Tis the season to be jolly for Houston professionals.

That’s according new survey from staffing firm Accountemps.

The research reveals that 58 percent of Houston locals say they are happier during the holidays -- even though 36 percent admit to being more stressed this time of year.

Overall, Houston tied with St. Louis for seventh place among the nation's happiest workers during the holidays.

Some other highlights:

--Houston workers ranked balancing holiday events and work obligations as the most stressful part of the holiday season.

--34 percent of Houston workers say bigger year-end bonuses would help alleviate stress.

--30 percent would appreciate more flexible work schedules during the holidays.

--Workers in San Francisco and New York ranked as the most merry, while those in Cleveland and Philadelphia are the least joyful.

--Pittsburgh and Philadelphia home to the most frazzled professionals during the holidays.
