Local libraries damaged by Harvey are among the beneficiaries of nearly 300-thousand-dollars in grants from two Texas library organizations.
On Thursday, the Texas Library Association awarded 25 grants totaling more than 100-thousand-dollars, half of which went to recipients in the Houston area. Also Thursday, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission announced another 25 grants totaling almost 200-thousand-dollars.
Grants from both organizations went to rebuild flood-damaged libraries in Kingwood High School, Lone Star College-Kingwood and seven local branches of the Houston Public Library.
