College tuition and fees have risen three times faster than inflation over the past decade -- and with that in mind, the personal-finance website WalletHub.com has released its 2018 "Best College & University Rankings" in addition to separate rankings for colleges and for universities.
Rice University in Houston ranked 10th in the nation -- and No. 2 in the region -- on the list.
WalletHub analysts compared nearly 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. based on 26 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The data set ranges from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.
