On to Game Seven

The Houston Astros live to see another day.

They beat the New York Yankees 7-1 in Game Six of the American League Championship Series, and forcing a decisive Game Seven on Saturday night.

The series winner moves on to face the Dodgers in the World Series.

Starting pitcher Justin Verlander turned in another stellar performance, striking out eight in seven shutout innings.

The ‘Stros rediscovered their offense in the fifth inning, when catcher Brian McCann drove in the game’s first run with a double.  Three batters later, Jose Altuve drove in two more runs with a single.

After relief pitcher Brad Peacock gave up a solo home run to Yankees rookie Aaron Judge, the Astros struck back.  Altuve opened the bottom of the 8th with a solo shot into the Landry’s Crawford Box.  Alex Bregman drove in two more runs with a double, and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Evan Gattis.

The home team has won every game in the ALCS.
