Health officials are concerned there could be another flu pandemic, if there's a mutation in new flu. Or, a new strain appears like one that jumps between animals.
“Before everybody gets excited about a pandemic and the chaos that is being professed, we have to first take care of ourselves,” said KTRH's Dr. Joe Galati.
Galati said you need to get the flu shot and be precautious every flu season.
“There is no reason, in most people, not to get vaccinated-and the whole point that the vaccine does not give you the flu. And, so, people come up with all kinds of excuses not to get vaccinated,” said Galati.
Galati reminds folks to always wash their hands to prevent from spreading the virus.
