Not only are Democrats talking about more gun control following the massacre in Las Vegas. Some Republicans are doing it too, and they have gone to introducing legislation on top of it.
The proposed bill aimed at bump stocks was introduced by a Florida Republican and co-sponsored by nine others, none of them from Texas. RNC Committeeman Robin Armstrong doesn't like it.
“It’s wrong to be reactionary; to have laws that are based on events that have taken place and emotion,” Armstrong said.
Gun Owners of America Executive Director Erich Pratt told KTRH these Republicans are abandoning their platform.
“These republicans are Republicans in name only. They are not the pro-gun representatives in the Congress,” Pratt stated.
And Armstrong thinks any Republican supporting this bill will face backlash.
“They will get primary opponents, and those opponents will make this a significant issue in the primary campaign,” Armstrong explained.
Former Trump administration official Steve Bannon, back at Breitbart, has previously threatened to find candidates to challenge Republican incumbents.
