NFL Favorable Ratings at an All-time Low

A new survey says that the NFL’s unfavorable rating is at an all time high. From the end of August to the end of September, the favorable rating for the NFL have dropped from 59% to 44%, and it has the highest unfavorable rating at 40%.

Clinical forensic psychologist Dr. John Huber says the politicizing of the sport has a lot to do with it’s poor ratings, “for decades the one safe place where every American can go to was professional sports, and all of the sudden the players have kind of taken that away from us. And it’s no longer a safe place for us to get lost in the excitement of the sport.”

Granted, the NFL’s ratings started to dwindle a few years ago, but the ‘kneeling during the National Anthem’ controversy may have added fuel to the fire. In just a one month period, the NFL went from the #1 sport, to the least liked of top professional and college sports.
