Poll: Why can’t we all just get along … politically?

This may not shock you, but the political divide in this country affects who you call your friends.

According to the Pew Research Center only one of ten have friends in the opposing political party. Texas Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak told KTRH he thinks he knows why.

“People are formed and partisan in their views. A lot of times they just don’t want to hear arguments from the other side,” he stated.

Another Pew Study shows we have never been this divided over party lines as we are right now. Again, that doesn't shock Mackowiak.

“Half the country sees itself as conservative and half of it sees itself as liberal,” Mackowiak explained.

Mackowiak says the divide has been shaped by the election, and the Obama and Bush 43 Presidencies.
