Texans set for prime time action Sunday

After impressively beating the Tennessee Titans last Sunday, the Houston Texans find themselves in prime time this weekend.

The 2-2 Texans will host the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs Sunday Night. The game will be televised by NBC as part of Sunday Night Football.

The rest of the country will get their first look at Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, who is the talk of the league after lighting up the scoreboard against the New England Patriots two weeks ago, and against Tennessee last weekend.

There is the tendency by some around the league to try and compare Watson to quarterbacks that came before him. But don’t try telling that to coach Bill O’Brien, who says comparisons aren’t fair.

“He’s a very unique player. He’s his own player,” O’Brien said.

As for Watson, he says he’s noticed a change in O’Brien over these last two weeks. The coach has more trust in him.

“He understands that as players, we are the ones on the field. We see things differently because we are the ones on the field,” Watson stated.

And after putting up points in big numbers these last two games, O’Brien states the obvious. His offense is rolling right now.

“It’s about going down the field and getting points. When an offense can do that it gives the team confidence,” O’Brien told reporters on Wednesday.

Kickoff on Sunday night is set for 7:30. You can watch the game on our TV partner, Channel 2.
