This will be a hurricane impacted year for The 2017 Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach program.
Since 1986 volunteers have gathered annually to catalogue and collect trash that has accumulated along the coastline.
More than half a million Texans have taken part through the years, and have hauled in almost 10,000 tons of garbage.
Volunteers are provided data cards, gloves, pencils and trash bags. All are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, bring your own sunscreen, and bring your own water, though some will be provided.
Clean up is held on Saturday from 9a-12p. You can learn more and register at TexasAdoptABeach.org.
