Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans has been suspended without pay for the 10 games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The NFL made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.
The suspension begins immediately, starting with Thursday night's game.
Cushing is an inside linebacker for the Texans.
He will be eligible to return to the Texans’ active roster Nov. 28 -- following the team’s Nov. 27 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
