While there will be football on the field at NRG Stadium Sunday when the Texans host Jacksonville, there may be just as many people paying attention to their fantasy football teams.
Sure, Harvey may have impacted leagues around Texas, with leagues either being cancelled entirely or drafts postponed because of the storm, but people are still playing. Brad Evans of Yahoo! Sports told KTRH people need the distraction fantasy football provides.
“I don’t think a large number of leagues have been cancelled. Maybe a thousand here or there. But it’s not in the millions,” Evans explained. “The industry is a billion dollar industry. It might take a little hit on the chin, but it will stay upright.”
Evans adds that the number of people playing on Yahoo! Are up from what they were last year.
