Harris County Courthouse flooded

Hurricane Harvey damaged many buildings around Houston. One of those was the Harris County Courthouse, which is not going to be usable for about eight months.

“There will be no civil jury trials in September and felony trials will be moved over to the civil courts building,” Harris County Judge Ed Emmett said on Tuesday.

  • Mayor Sylvester Turner lifted the night time curfew in the city, except for the area in West Houston impacted by flooding.
  • Fourteen people are still missing more than a week after the storm.
  • The body of a six-month old girl who had been ripped out of her parents arms by flood waters was found in Winters Bayou.
  • Tickets for George Straits benefit concert September 12th go on sale this morning at 10am.
