This week gas prices topped the highest national increase since Hurricane Katrina 12 years ago. By now, you’ve passed by pumps that have run out. So, when you find that gas station, you’re almost prepared to pay the price they’re asking. Gas Buddy’s Patrick DeHaan said since Harvey hit us last week, you're paying a lot more at the pump. Right now, the average of $2.46 per gallon.
“There is some light at end of the tunnel, but I do suspect it will probably take at least a few weeks to see gas prices fall back to their pre-Harvey levels,” said DeHaan.
DeHaan said it also depends on if the refineries get back up and running.
