Perry Orders Drawdown from U.S. Petroleum Reserve

U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry has authorized the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to negotiate and execute two emergency exchange agreements with a Louisiana refinery.

Perry's decision will authorize a total of 400,000 barrels of sweet crude oil and 600,000 barrels of sour crude oil to be drawn down from SPR’s West Hackberry site in coastal Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The oil will be delivered via pipeline to the Phillips 66 refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In other matters related to Harvey recovery, the Energy Department:

--Has added a page for people to report gas-price gouging.
