Dickinson, which sustained heavy flooding from Harvey, is working to establish two debris drop-off sites for residents to take their debris for disposal.
The first location is Sussan’s Furniture at 3820 Gulf Freeway (I-45).
The site began accepting debris Saturday and will open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily "until it is no longer necessary," according to Sgt. Tim Cromie of the Dickinson Police Department.
Debris must be separated by category:
--Vegetative debris: Trees, woody debris.
-- Construction/demolition debris: Sheetrock, lumber, etc.
--Hazard materials: Items such as paint, cleaning supplies and gasoline.
--White goods: Appliances.
The city is making preparations for a second site "and will provide additional information when it is operational," Cromie said.
