There are two systems to the east that Houston weather watchers are keeping an eye on.
One developed Friday just to the south of the Capo Verde Islands off the coast of Africa. Computer models are suggesting it has the potential to develop into a tropical storm in the week ahead. If the system develops it could reach the Leeward Islands by Friday.
Another disturbance is in the central Caribbean and if it maintains any organization could cross the Yucatan Peninsula Tuesday and has the potential to reach landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast around Thursday.
Neither is currently a threat to the U.S. but storm trackers are keeping a close track of their developments.
Hurricane Season runs through November 30.
