Can Trump really ‘Drain the Swamp?’

As Washington Republicans try to come up with a new healthcare plan, some conservative analysts feel the stalemate just proves we need to ‘Drain the Swamp’ when it comes to Washington politics.

Among the ideas that are out there include get rid of the old Washington elite and replace them with business-oriented people; the idea being put into use with term limits. Political analyst Chris Begala says in theory this sounds great.

“These individuals that sit into office for decades; that’s not what the framers of the Constitution had in mind,” Begala stated.

But he also says that actually getting this done would be much harder.

“We’ve got about 1.4 million civilian federal employees. You couldn’t fire 140 thousand of those if you wanted to,” Begala explained.

Among the other ideas to help drain the swamp include dialing back the regulations on business, reducing foreign aid commitments, and for President Trump to stick with his business first mindset.
