The "Harry Potter" adventure series books got millions of kids excited about reading again. That has been a really good thing, says Julie Finck, president of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
“Harry Potter or any other book that would inspire children, research does show that when a child has a voice and is able to select books,” Finck says, “they are more likely to read and finish the book.”
And, the kids were demanding Harry Potter books.
The publication was released 20 years ago Monday, June 26th.
The stories by JK Rowling sold millions of books.
