The family of Marcus Camby is suing the former Houston Rockets player over the death of his nephew.
It was Thanksgiving Day 2016 when the 9-year-old child, with severe autism, wandered away while in the care of Camby. The boy's body was found in a nearby pond days later.
The family blames the Camby for not doing enough to prevent the boy's death and wanted the player to pay up for negligence. First, the lawsuit must prove Camby was at fault in order for the boy's family to receive an insurance settlement.
Camby has yet to announce whether he will fight the lawsuit.
