Tropical Storm Cindy has claimed at least one victim before even reaching landfall.
A boy vacationing on the beach in Alabama was struck and killed Wednesday by a log that was washed ashore by the storm.
According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the 10-year-old boy was outside a condominium at the resort area of Fort Morgan when a wave carried in the log and struck the child.
Relatives, and later emergency workers, were unable to revive him.
The boy, who was not identified, was visiting from Missouri on an end-of-school vacation.
